MAY 2016 OBSESSION

Hey Friends! I’m a few days late but I couldn’t let a month go by without sharing my obsession for May!

OLAY REGENERIST MICRO-SCULPTING CREAM WITH SUNSCREEN BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 30!
I love this! I’ve only mentioned 8 million times that sunscreen is your best friend. It should be worn all year round no matter the weather. The Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is so lightweight. It’s perfect for everyday. The best part is it’s invisible. There’s nothing worst than a sunscreen that leaves your face looking white and pasty.
Don’t forget your neck area when applying. The neck needs the same treatment as the face. Which daily sunscreens do you use?

4 MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND BEAUTY MUST-HAVES

Vacationing is one of the luxuries of life. If you can’t go for 2 weeks or even 7 days, a long weekend is a great way to take a moment and unwind, visit friends, get some sun, or sightsee. Whatever the reason might be, how you pack for your trip is a super important step. Even if your trip is extensive, your skincare doesn’t have to be. Here are 4 beauty must-haves for the long weekend that keep your skincare on point without lugging everything you own. Yes! Just 4!
HOS MEMORIAL DAY POST 2016
SUNSCREEN: I should start by mentioning that sunscreen is a 365 day commitment. Not all vacations consist of rays, but regardless of the destination, protecting your skin from the ultra violet rays is essential. You should protect yourself even when you walk to the mailbox. If most of your body will be exposed while vacationing, sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher is best. For cooler destinations you’ll want to make sure that your makeup consists of SPF 30 or apply sunscreen before your makeup application. A great full body sunscreen is The Aveeno Protect and Hydrate Lotion. An amazing sunscreen for the face is my personal favorite: Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield. It’s a great investment for your skin and it’s super lightweight.

MAKEUP PALETTES: What’s nice about makeup palettes is that everything you need can be in a compact case. Easy breezy and on the go. Who really wants to carry 10 different eye shadows and a ton of lippies? Vacationing is about being carefree and relaxed. Go for an eye shadow palette that gives you your nudes and one or two smokey options. A palette like Urban Decay’s Naked 2 does just that! Your lips can get easily covered too. The Lip Artist Palette from Sephora collection will have those puckers looking on point for days!

TRAVEL SIZED FRAGRANCE:
To me, a travel size version of your favorite fragrance is not only smart but so cute! It’s the little things. Most fragrances come with a travel sized roll on version. Your signature fragrance can go with you wherever you travel and you don’t have to check it in at the airport. Take a look at this Chloe Eau de Parfum roller ball. Adorable!

LIGHTWEIGHT FACE POWDER: A lightweight powder is perfect when you’re enjoying a period of relaxation. It gives you just enough coverage so that you don’t look like you just rolled out of bed but it also doesn’t feel heavy and over done. If you’re poolside and the sun is blazing hot, do you really want to have a pound of foundation on? I don’t! A lightweight powder that gives amazing results and can be used for every occasion is the Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder. It’s perfect! Goes and easy and lasts all day. Approved for beauty while traveling!

Do you feel like you need more? You don’t! Having these 4 essentials will make you look like you haven’t skipped a beat, I promise. Beauty is what you make it. We don’t need to be completely made up and contoured all the time. Small tweaks win too. When traveling, taking in the experience is what’s most important. Just think, sunscreen, makeup palettes, fragrance and your favorite powder. Done! Make your Memorial Day weekend beauty the best one!

APRIL 2016 OBSESSION

Guys I’m obsessed! AGAIN!

This month I’ve been trying to find something to really bring some moisture to my face. Normally I’m not one to use masks but I think things have changed for the better.

Again, haven’t been a mask person and only tried a few. The Aztec Secret Indian Clay Mask took things to another level. You can mix it with water or apple cider vinegar. I went with water. 20 minutes on the face of true pulsing. And removed easily with warm water. Don’t be afraid of a little redness when you take it off, that’s normal. I usually apply it at night. By morning, I promise, it’s like a have a whole new face! Only once a week is necessary.

Try it. Go be happy! It won’t disappoint!

Spring Nail Color Guide!

Perfect manicure lovers, this Spring, it’s not about your basic greens, blues and purples. Instead it’s about toning down the shade while still making a statement. While bold colors grab everyone’s eye, a lesser, subdued version of your favorite shade can still say, “Hello!” For this season there are ways to show shades that we don’t often see yet still create a lasting trend. Here’s what I mean…

GREEN: We’re not talking army green and we’re not talking pine green. This Spring, we’re talking SAGE! Check out Essie’s Sew Psyched shade that says, “Hi, I’m ready for this season!”

BLUE: This past winter, we’ve been seeing shades of blue that are bold and fierce. We’re toning down our blues in an exciting way with a paler version. China Glaze makes the perfect pale blue shade: Isle See You Later

ORANGE: Don’t just think Orange; don’t even think tangerine. Think Creamsicle! Resort Fling by Essie keeps your shade of orange perfect for a Spring day!

PURPLE: This Spring, your nail shade can totally match your mood. In the family of purples, we’re going full blown Lilac! Check out Sally Hansen’s Lacey Lilac for the perfect color!

WHITE: This happens to be my favorite shade of nail color. Nail technicians like to give me a funny look when I ask for it but I stick with it! White is clean, fresh and Spring ready. I promise you won’t go wrong. Try a few of my favorite whites from OPI, Essie, and Deborah Lippmann

PINK: Go Mauve! This toned down shade of pink is perfect for the not so pink girl. It’s incredibly neutral in tone and keeps the femininity without being a bold “girly” shade. Zoya makes the perfect mauve polish, Jana. It looks great on every skin tone.

BROWN: Toffee anyone? This nail shade wins without doubt. Revlon’s Totally Toffee takes your coffee to cafe au lait! Spring is the time to do it. This is just another way to tone it down without it completely disappearing.

RED: I’ve saved the best for last. Here’s the best thing about red, it works EVERY season. If all you had was red nail polish, you’d be on trend this season and every one thereafter. Red screams “I’m a boss lady with no apologies” Here are my top three: Come to Bed by Butter London; 500 Rouge Essentiel by Chanel and Anisa by Julep

You must be running to your local nail salon, I know! What are some of your Spring shades and what makes them special to you during the season?
