HOW TO SAVE WHEN YOU HAVE A BEAUTY ADDICITON

I’m a beauty junkie! Have you noticed? I won’t bore you with the super long list of products that have now made an organized space in my linen closet. And I won’t try to stop you from investing in what you love. What I will do is give you tips on how you can admire all things beauty and still be financially responsible about it. I’ve made a lot of mistakes, overspending, but you don’t have to!

1. LEARN WHAT INGREDIENTS WORK BEST FOR YOU
First and foremost, know your skin! Oily, dry, combination, ALL THAT! This is a huge factor in making the best decisions for your beauty purchases. There’s no reason to by a cleanser for acne prone skin if you don’t get acne. Following beauty trends always seem fun but try to be more conscience of purchasing what’s truly best for you!

2. RETURN WHAT YOU’VE TRIED THAT DOESN’T WORK
This is something I wish I did more of. Many stores allow you to bring back products that were not to your satisfaction. I’m guilty of quickly picking up the wrong shade. Or purchasing a hot item that I end up hating. Stores like Sephora, major department stores, and even your local drug stores like Duane Read or CVS will allow you to bring beauty products back as long as you have the receipt. No need to add it to the closet of products that you probably won’t touch for years to come.

3. MAKE A NEED VS. WANT LIST
OK, so yea, I want the Urban Decay Naked2 palette. And yes I can just run to Sephora and buy it. No biggie right? Wrong! For a fact, I don’t need it! I have enough eye shadow to make it to the next century. This is what I mean. List out what you really need. Things that are useful to you regularly. If you have a specific moisturizer that you love, continue buying it when you run out of it, because it works. Hey on your birthday, get yourself a WANT. But this doesn’t have to be a habit. It feels so much better when you treat yourself once in a blue.

Simple right? Those three tips could save you a good penny! You don’t have to break the bank to have a killer beauty stash. I’m here so you don’t make my mistakes. I got nothing but LOVE for ya! What are some of your beauty money saving secrets? I’d love to know.

APRIL 2017 OBSESSION

This month’s obsession goes out to my MOM!!!! She reminded me of a product that I’m totally obsessed with and love.

The Bobbi Brown Extra Balm Rinse feels like I’m rubbing Heaven on my face; it’s amazing! It almost has the consistency of petroleum jelly, but it’s quite different, believe me. What I love about this rinse is the two-step process.

1. Rub vigorously all over the face with dry hands
2. Rinse with warm water and finish off with cool

When rinsing, the product turns into the milky feeling treasure and you instantly feel the dirt come up and off.

That’s it! My face is left feeling extremely hydrated, soft and supple. Often times it’s all I need. Here’s a bonus: it comes in a travel size version so in the carry-on bag it goes!

MARCH 2017 OBSESSION

March Obsession Time, friends! My choice is a no-brainier this month. I tried a makeup product that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

M.A.C Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick is not a game. What a formula! It glides on like butter. It lasts all day. It doesn’t dry out. What else do you want? Listen, I’m a huge fan of Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lips and the $6 price! But they have nothing on the M.A.C formula, it’s true.

Currently obsessed with the shade Ladybegood. It’s an everyday shade for me. Luckily for you, there are 33 shades to choose from. Enjoy!

HER OWN SKIN’S TOP 5 BEAUTY TRENDS FOR 2017

I can hardly believe that we’ve entered into the year 2017. 2016 sped by in a flash and I’m not sure that I can say last year was completely amazing. There were some rough periods; celebrity deaths and a tumultuous election. Here’s what I kept consistent: An optimistic outlook on it all and a ton of favorite beauty practices. With that said, I’m projecting my beauty trends for 2017. I think you’ll like them and I hope you’ll join me…

1. MOISTURIZING WITH OIL: Listen! I’ve been saying this over and over again. The health of my skin has never been better than when I started using argon oil on my face and neck at night. In fact click on my November Obsession for a favorite of mine. For a little guidance, check out my current night routine where I show you step-by-step, how to incorporate an oil into your skin love at night!

2. NAIL DESIGNS: A few coats of one color on your nails is so 2016! This year, go for something fun. Lines, dots, squares painted on your nails give you the perfect manicure with a twist. I’m not talking about the flower that you put on your 5-year-old nieces pointer finger when you drag her with you to the salon. Think minimal and chic. In fact, for a little inspo, take a look at my NAIL OBSESSION board on pinterest to grab some sure to please ideas.

3. BUSHY BROWS: Am I the only one into the bushy brow? I haven’t tweezed, waxed or threaded my brows in over 2 years. They’re not entirely bushy, but they are full. I can dig it. I encourage you to be a less concerned about having the absolute perfect arched brow. At the most, give them a good brow brush and call it a day. 2017 is about low maintenance beauty. We can do it!

4. LITTLE-TO-NO MAKEUP: This one might be a challenge. It is for me at least. I’m normally a full face everyday. I don’t wear a lot, but I do WEAR! Yet still, there have been days when my eyelash extensions and a lip are enough. Something about glowing in your natural beauty is amazing. A really nice touch is just using your favorite tinted moisturizer. Take a look at mine here. 2017 is a year where I plan to do more with less.

5. NO-HEAT HAIRSTYLES: I’ve been rocking a perm rod set for about a week now. I’m so in love with this look. To think that you can make bouncy beautiful curls without a curling iron gives me life. A non-damaging look is always a win.

That didn’t hurt, right? You have 5 beauty trends that I’m raving about to tap into this year. You don’t have to take my word for it, but when you come across a stunning, bushy-browed, curly flawless-skinned gem walking down your street, come back and tell me that you love me.
