HOLY GRAIL SKINCARE

Beauty plays a big role in my life. As you can see from my monthly obsessions, I’m constantly trying new products, new routines and regimens and changing them quite often. It’s what I do and I love it. Although I make time to explore and share with you all of my findings, I will always have my favorites close by for guaranteed satisfaction. Here are four elements that will go with me everywhere!

1. GO-TO CLEANSER
My go-to cleanser is Cetaphil, hands down. This lightweight formula is perfect for my sometimes sensitive skin. It leaves my face super clean without leaving me feeling dry. It just works.

2. OIL
If I had to use just one multipurpose beauty product, it would be Argan oil. Argan oil is pure. That’s a plus all in itself. But also, it serves so many purposes for me. My face flourishes with consistent use. My hair thrives with scalp massages. And, the rest of my body adores it; especially in the Summer.

3. SHEET MASKS
Have you seen my Instagram? I’m obsessed with sheet masks. They make my day, and my night. Added moisture is guaranteed which I always need. And that glow is everything! Check out a few favorites here.

4. LIPS
Guys, you should already know my lip obsession. AQUAPHOR LIP REPAIR! All day, all night. The BEST, BEST, BEST! Check out my previous post here where aquaphor made the obsession pick for June 2016.

I believe the above four picks are the foundation. Everything else is a bonus. Skincare doesn’t have to be complicated. A little goes a long way. What are your holy grail products and why?

AUGUST 2017 OBSESSION

Fall is upon us. Can you believe?

Here’s the first thing that comes to my mind when that cool breeze starts to hit us…EXTRA MOISTURE. It starts now!

Here’s my August obsession that happens to have come right on time for the season change.

Palmers Coconut Oil Body Oil is L-I-F-E
If you love the scent of coconut but not in a way that’s too strong, this is for you. The subtle fragrance lasts all day. The formula feels expensive yet it goes for about 5 bucks! WIN!

My favorite way to use this oil of a lifetime is at the tail end of my shower, while my skin is still well. Get’s absorbs nicely and goes on super smooth.

You don’t have to take my word for it…but I don’t lie!

WINGED EYELINER

There’s no secret. You should know by now how I feel about a winged eyeliner. A clean, sharp winged eyeliner is one of the makeup wow factors that women have always loved. With the colder months slowly approaching I feel like many women start to transition into applying a bit of a bolder look. Not necessarily fully bold and smokey but a touch of jazz. This beauty trend is seen everywhere from casual outings with friends to black tie events. The application requires a sturdy hand and the proper materials. It’s a question I get asked often! Here’s how to achieve the look and three liners that are sure to please.

Knowing what you want your end result to be is the first step. How thick or thin is a major decision. It separates your everyday look from drama. I like to go for an everyday clean look most of the time. Not too dramatic, just a little pop.

1. Prime: I can’t stress how important primer is. It’s not just for the full face. My eyelids get their own primer. This keeps my wing in place the entire day with no worries. I’ve tested quite a few and can point you in the ONLY direction for eye primer. Urban Decay Eyeliner Primer Potion. I don’t know what is in the formula that makes it so good but it will always be in my stash. Getting this on the full eye is essential. A little goes a long way. This way, you can add a touch of natural eye shadow that won’t move for an added effect if you choose to.

2. Trace: Your lash line should be traced smoothly from inner to outer edge. It serves as a guide along the way. Start it off thin so that you can gauge your optimal thickness and build to the effect you want. By stretching the lid, you’re able to hold the eye taut which creates this kind of resistance that makes the product go on smoothly instead of jagged.

3. Wing: This part takes a little more attention to detail. The wing is the whole point here so you want to make sure it’s right. For the perfect wing I like to glide my liner starting from the outer corner of my eye. I treat it like an extension to my lash line. The way to get the perfect tip of your wing is to slowly lift the liner up along the way. By lifting your liner you end up with less product at the tip and a flawless look. Once you get the length you’re looking for, you can build the thickness by bringing your strokes back to the outer edge. Lighter at the tip and heavier at the corner.

4. Touch Up & Clean: Last but not least, if there are any spots that need a touch up you can dab a little liner where needed and finish off your cleaning with a wet q-tip. This really sharpens the look to perfection and keeps your wing crisp.

Now that you have the steps, which liner do you choose? That is the question. I’ve picked 3 liners that stay put all day and help keep those wings on point!

MAKEUP FOREVER AQUA LINER 13 MAT BLACK: This liner is so sweet! Goes on perfectly and lasts what feels like an eternity.

RIMMEL LONDON SCANDALIZE GEL LINER: Not to fret with a gel formula. The same technique applies. I love this product because it gives that deep dark black matte finish.

MAC COSMETICS TECHNAKOHL LINER: We’re looking at a classic here. This pencil gives off rich bold color. It’s a soft and creamy formula which is great in the Summer.

There you have it ladies. You have some homework today. Follow these steps and you’ll win. Liquid, gel or pencil which one will you choose for your wing? I say, try them all and keep those eyes interesting!
